[RESOLVED] COMODO SSL Provider outage

3 weeks, 5 days ago

Dear Customers,

Security SSL provider Comodo CA experienced a severe outage in resolving SSL validation at 12:22ET today. As a result websites and other services that use Comodo SSL certificates may have experienced slowdowns or in some cases complete outages with the performance of their services as a result of Comodo servers not responding appropriately. Even as iTMG services were fully up during this time you may have still experienced the inability to use them as a result of this Comodo outage.

You may have received errors during the connection to your websites or services via HTTPS due to issues with accessing Comodo CA OCSP and CRL servers as well as other latency related issues at Comodo.

We were monitoring their status and will continue to monitor their follow up to their outage to determine if any further action is required by holders of Comodo products.

Feel free to contact ticket system if you have any questions.

UPDATE: 14:01 ET

We are happy to report that the issue has been resolved by Comodo.

If you continue face any related issues please submit a ticket right away.

Thank you for your patience in the matter.

regards,

-- your iTristan Media Group team

FOLLOW UP: 17:48ET

Due to the severity of this outage and the impace this has had to some client businesses we will be monitoring the overall Comodo response. If there is a concern that changes to recommendations of SSL and security product providers is warranted we will make changes to our ongoing policies.

Security Update | WordPress 4.8.3 Security Release

5 months, 3 weeks ago

MEMO to all WordPress users

WordPress 4.8.3 is now available. This is a security release for all previous versions and we strongly encourage you to update your sites immediately.

As is always recommended with WordPress users and developers, there have been a number of vulnerability patches security releases since 2016. It is important that you review your WordPress regularly for these updates to ensure that your WordPress is not compromised, bringing down your business.

Feel free to reach out to us at https://itristanmedia.com/support for a complementary review of your WordPress installation.

This Release

WordPress versions 4.8.2 and earlier are affected by an issue where $wpdb->prepare() can create unexpected and unsafe queries leading to potential SQL injection (SQLi). WordPress core is not directly vulnerable to this issue, but we’ve added hardening to prevent plugins and themes from accidentally causing a vulnerability. Reported by Anthony Ferrara.

This release includes a change in behaviour for the esc_sql() function. Most developers will not be affected by this change, you can read more details in the developer note.

Thank you to the reporter of this issue for practicing responsible disclosure.

Download WordPress 4.8.3 or venture over to Dashboard → Updates and simply click “Update Now.” Sites that support automatic background updates are already beginning to update to WordPress 4.8.3.

CVD number will be required for all transactions

8 months, 2 weeks ago

Beginning October 14th, 2017 credit card companies will be requiring all transactions to pass the CVD number when processing a transaction, otherwise the payment will be declined.

Existing accounts, if currently stored for recurring transactions will need to be updated with a CVD number if not already saved..

This update is in response to Visa’s latest standards; and it is expected that all major card providers will be requiring the same security standard upgrade, so this policy is being applied by our merchant providers in advance for all card types.
